It has been a phenomenal 2 weeks with the Olympic Broadcasting Services commentary team at the 2026 Milano Cortina Paralympic Winter Games.
Commentating across Para Alpine Skiing and Para Snowboard my goal was simple and of utmost importance to me- bring our Paralympians and their remarkable performances to the world.
Being a part of the OBS global feed brought with it pressure and the challenge of knowing what I said would be broadcast and accessible to the entire world, forever captured in the archives. Early on, I recognized that whilst the desire was for perfection, the reality of it was impossible. At the conclusion of 8 days on air, I had been a part of calling 895 alpine skiing runs, 32 boarder cross rounds & 34 victory ceremonies.
What was a special realization was that despite being at my first Games as a non-athlete there were remarkably similar experiences. The team aspect really shone through for me- the support for my debut commentary work with OBS and I could not have been better supported by my fellow commentators and HCM’s. The hard work, long hours, consistent focus and attention to detail, and the emotional rollercoaster riding the highs and lows of the athletes competing. It all made for a full and wonderful experience.
Grazie, Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.
See you at the next Games!
