Well what an exciting time it is! A few firsts to go around!
Welcome to my first blog and to my brand new website. Very excited to have it up and running and a big shout out and thank you to Neil from XERA for putting it together for me, I think it looks fantastic and look forward to hearing what you all think!
It’s been a busy 9 months since competing at London 2012, surgery, a trip to Vietnam for Vision 2020 Australia (see Photo Gallery on my web site) and my re-introduction to the world of ski racing meaning 3 months in the US and Europe training and racing, and more recently an amazing month off travelling through Central America and NYC with a friend to allow my brain and body a break before what is about to be an enormous 9 months as we head into the 2014 Winter Paralympics.
I have just relocated up to Jindabyne in NSW to allow myself the opportunity to be on snow every day during the Australian winter and I can’t wait to be able to spend so much time on snow. I’ve had a great training block at the Victorian Institute of Sport with my strength and conditioning coaches Harry and Scott but it’s time to click back into the skis and start focusing on the red and blue gates that will dominate my life.
I will be updating my blog as often as possible and look forward to sharing with you my stories of life as Australian Paralympic alpine skier, we are few and far between but with Australia hosting World Cup races for the first time ever at Thredbo this September it’s going to be an exciting season.
Also, please make sure that you are following me on Facebook and Twitter … they are both great ways for us to keep in touch.
Until next time… keep up the snow dancing!
Jess
