Samsung #DoWhatYouCant
Jessica Gallagher – You can’t cycle without vision
At the 2014 Sochi Winter Paralympics I partnered with Samsung as part of their global TVC campaign, spreading the message that Sport Doesn’t Care & I’m proud to announce that I’ve again teamed up with Samsung this time to #DoWhatYouCant.
In this campaign we celebrate triumph over adversity and defying barriers showing how every athlete overcomes unique odds to have reached Rio. Australian Olympic athletes Jessica Ashwood, Seth Westcott and Shaun Rose are also involved and I encourage you to watch their videos on Samsung Australia’s You Tube page- all with incredibly inspiring stories to tell.
It was a pleasure working with Samsung and Leo Burnett to create my video ‘You Can’t Cycle Without Vision’ showcasing how despite my vision impairment I can take on the world. Thank you to my tandem pilot Maddie Janssen and my Mum who feature in this clip. Two very important people who have helped me get to Rio.
Together we hope this clip inspires you to defy your barriers, challenge yourself and take you to heights you never knew possible.

An excerpt from Samsung Electronics Australia and why this campaign is so important.
“The Olympics and Paralympics are the absolute summation of personal sacrifice and determination – individuals on a relentless pursuit to defy what others think isn’t possible,” says Philip Newtown, corporate vice president and chief marketing officer at Samsung Electronics Australia.
“Our company is built on a heritage of defying barriers which is why we’ve created #DoWhatYouCant. By sharing these inspiring stories of the pioneering spirit, perseverance and the will to get back up again against the odds, we hope to inspire Australians to reconsider the barriers of success.”
