It took just a little over a minute for Jessica Gallagher to create history in Rio.
To be exact, 1:08.171.
That was the time the vision-impaired Gallagher rode with pilot Madison Janssen to claim bronze in the tandem kilometre time trial at the Paralympics.
It saw her become the first Australian to medal at both a Winter and a Summer Paralympic Games.
It has also earned her Swoop Play of the Weekend.
The multi-talented Gallagher was Australia’s first female Winter Paralympic medallist with her bronze in the giant slalom in Vancouver in 2010.
On the weekend she became the first male or female to win medals at both Summer and Winter events.
A former netballer who was talent identified for skiing, the 29-year-old has also competed in athletics at the Paralympics but missed a medal in London due to injury.
She missed the Beijing Paralympics when declared not vision-impaired enough to compete.
