I’m really excited to announce that on Sunday July 26 I will be taking part in The Age Run Melbourne and ‘Running 4 Vision’
My superheroe buddy Sam Valavanis and I are participating in Run Melbourne on July 26th to raise funds for Vision Australia.
Vision Australia provides services for people who are blind or have low vision across all walks of life. I first came across Vision Australia at the age of 17 when I discovered I was losing my sight and had become classed as legally blind. They were an essential part in helping me understand what my life was going to be like and provided SO much support whether it be coming to my high school to educate my teachers about what I could and couldn’t see or tricks and tips on moving around independently. There assistance was invaluable and I’m thrilled to be helping give back a little with my mate Sam.
Superhero Sam is 12 years old and is completely blind. Sam has bilateral retinoblastoma and has been receiving services from Vision Australia from the age of 3 months but Sam has big plans and won’t let blindness get in his way. Sam is already planning to become an Oncologist or Anaesthetist when he grows up.
Help us to support Sam and other kids like him to become tomorrow’s Superheroes. If you’d like to contribute you can donate on the Every Day Hero website here: www.visionaustralia.org/superheroes
