How Jessica Gallagher became Australia’s first female Para-Alpine Ski medalist! | Game Breakers
What an honour to be featured by The Olympic Channel in their ‘Game Breakers’ series focusing on my history making performance at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Paralympics when Eric and I became the first Australian women to win a winter Paralympic medal- fifty years after Australia won it’s first male medal.
It’s not often I recall the deep memories from my experiences over the past 10 years so it really was quite emotional re-living the highs and lows of some pretty special (and awful) moments in my life. Never in a million years could I have imagined where life has taken me… in particular my ski racing career and I loved being able to think back so fondly and share my stories.
Thank you to those in my inner sanctum for being involved, you’ll hear insights from my ski guide Eric, cycling coach Glenn and of course my Mum! Last but not least a massive thank you to the director Tom Spark who has captured some incredibly raw moments and pieced my story together in such a beautiful way. What a special process to be involved in and I’m so proud and grateful for this doco.
I hope that in watching this short documentary you are able to see that there is no obstacle or challenge too great. If you chase your dreams you can break the game- in whatever world that may be for you.
